About the Workshop

Feelings, Choices & Brave Little Steps

Children practise self-control best when they’re playing — so that’s what we’ve built these four days around.

We set up the story, materials and games. The children make the real choices within them.

Four Days, Four Big Feelings

Tuesday 15 · Naming the Muddle
What am I feeling?

Wednesday 16 · The Red Volcano
What do I do when I’m angry?

Thursday 17 · Brave Doesn’t Mean Not Scared
Can I do it even though I’m scared?

Friday 18 · The Colour Detective
What is my friend feeling?

What happen each day

Every session includes:

  • A story
  • Open-ended art
  • Games and playful activities
  • One practical tool your child gets to practise and take home on a card

The take-home tool gives you something simple to continue practising together at home.

A Safe Space to join in

Not every child wants to jump straight into an activity — and that’s perfectly okay.

Children can sit and watch from the Owl’s Perch until they feel ready. When they’re ready, they join in.

Led by Divvya Shetty

ECCE Educator, with a postgraduate diploma in Early Childhood Education from HY+ and the University of Helsinki.

The approach is inspired by Finnish early education, where children are seen as active participants in their own discovery, rather than passive recipients.

You can join for one day or all four — each session stands on its own.
