About the Program: My First Website – Learn to Build Websites from Scratch

My First Website is a step-by-step program that introduces children to real web development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Students learn how websites are structured, styled, and made interactive building a strong foundation in front-end development through hands-on projects.

What Children Will Learn:

  • Understanding how websites work and are structured
  • Writing clean HTML to create webpages
  • Styling pages using CSS for layout, colours, and fonts
  • Adding animations, transitions, and effects
  • Introducing interactivity using JavaScript and jQuery
  • Hosting and publishing websites online

Program Structure:

Children progress through three structured levels.

  • Level 1 covers HTML basics, including tags, media elements, inline styling, and multi-page website creation, culminating in designing and hosting a website on GitHub.
  • Level 2 advances into CSS, where children learn layouts, forms, responsive design, and animations, and apply these skills by building a complete tourism website.
  • Level 3 introduces JavaScript and jQuery, enabling children to add logic, interactivity, animations, and dynamic features to create fully interactive webpages.
