Welcome to the Artful Play Studio!
Hamleys Play and Unplggd Early Learning come together for a week of art from around the world. Every session explores a new country, a new technique, and a new way of seeing through hands-on creation. By Friday, they’ll have five unique artworks and a deeper understanding that creativity has no borders.
Every session includes 1 hour of art with Unplggd Early Learning followed by 1 hour of free play at Hamleys Play, with all activity materials thoughtfully included- because great learning deserves a great celebration!
How the Week Unfolds
- Day 1 — India — Madhubani Magic: has children create vibrant artwork using bold outlines and intricate patterns, filling every space with colour and detail. Focus: patterns, symmetry, and patience.
- Day 2 — Japan — Origami Creations : has children fold paper into simple shapes, decorate them, and build a mini scene from their creations. Focus: precision and fine motor skills.
- Day 3 — Australia — Aboriginal Dot : Painting has children use dots to form patterns and visual stories inspired by Aboriginal art traditions. Focus: control, rhythm, and storytelling through art.
- Day 4 — Mexico — Papel Picado : has children fold, cut, and reveal beautiful patterned paper designs to create festive decor. Focus: symmetry and creativity.
- Day 5 — France — Monet : Inspired Painting has children paint a scene using dabs and soft strokes, exploring colour blending and expression without outlines. Focus: expression and colour blending.
