The Summer Fellowship by BeOutlier is an immersive 10-day offline entrepreneurship program where students learn how to turn ideas into real, world businesses. Students work in teams to identify problems, build products, develop branding, and prepare their offerings for a live flea market.
Throughout the program, students take on different roles such as founders, creators, or investors, allowing them to experience multiple aspects of building a business. They learn key concepts like product design, customer understanding, pricing, storytelling, and market positioning.
A key highlight of the program is an industry visit to Mumbai’s wholesale market, where students interact with vendors, negotiate prices, and understand supply chain dynamics. The journey culminates in a flea market where students showcase and sell their products, gaining real-world entrepreneurial experience.
Learning Outcome:
1) Problem to Product Thinking
Students learn to identify a real-world problem, develop a solution, and pitch it as a viable product concept through guided team challenges.
2) Hands-on Product & Brand Building
Each participant builds hands-on skills in product design, branding, and marketing through structured workshops and mentor feedback sessions.
3) Real-world Sales & Pitching Skills
Students practise public speaking, negotiation, and persuasive communication by presenting their product to actual customers at a live flea market.
4) Understanding Business Economics
Through wholesale market visits and live selling, students gain a practical understanding of pricing, profit, and the real economics of a business.
5) Teamwork & Leadership Development
Collaboration, leadership, and accountability are strengthened as students work on team-based business projects under time and resource constraints.
