What makes a fire truck more than just a vehicle?
Inside every fire engine is a carefully designed system built for speed, coordination, and emergency response. In this immersive two-day workshop, children explore how fire safety systems in Navi Mumbai work and how design thinking helps cities respond to emergencies effectively.
Participants will visit a real fire station, observe the structure and tools inside a fire truck, and understand how emergency systems are planned long before a crisis occurs. Through hands-on activities and redesign challenges, learners begin to think like engineers, designers, and problem-solvers.
The workshop encourages children to look beyond sirens and flashing lights and ask deeper questions about how cities prepare for safety, resilience, and rapid response.
What Children will Explore:
- How fire stations operate in an urban city
- The engineering and design behind fire trucks
- Tool placement, accessibility, and emergency efficiency
- Spatial planning and problem-solving in emergency response
- How design thinking can improve public safety systems
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this workshop, learners will:
- Understand how fire stations in Navi Mumbai operate and respond to emergencies.
- Identify the key components of a fire truck and their specific functions.
- Explore the science behind fire, water pressure, and firefighting techniques.
- Design thinking to reimagine and improve a fire truck for city conditions.
- Develop awareness of the systems that protect Navi Mumbai every day.
