We create joyful, child-led play experiences through storytelling, sensory play, art, movement and sing-alongs.

About the Workshop

A new Gruffalo adventure, a storied Bengaluru bookstore and a morning for parents and children to experience together.

Yaanai Studio brings The Gruffalo Granny, the newest tale from the much-loved world of The Gruffalo, to life at Atta Galatta. With Julia Donaldson’s playful storytelling and Axel Scheffler’s unmistakable characters as the starting point, the session moves naturally from reading into making, music, movement and play.

Designed as a parent-child experience, grown-ups aren’t just accompanying their children. They join the story, create alongside them and share in the play, making the hour as much about time together as it is about the tale itself.

From Page to Play

  • A Little Piece of the Wood
Children and parents create together, drawing on the characters and woodland world they encounter in the story.
  • Sing & Move Along
Songs, actions and movement punctuate the tale, letting children respond to what they hear with their whole selves.
  • Play the Story
Story-inspired activities pick up where the pages leave off, turning favourite moments into prompts for imagination and play.

Set against the shelves of Atta Galatta, one of Bengaluru’s best-loved independent bookstores, it’s a fitting morning for a story that deserves to be lingered over, played with and enjoyed together.
